Robert Simpson - Sourcing Consultant
“At Vine Resources, I am learning all the time and there are always new people to learn from - whether they have been in the job one day or several years. Recruitment is still a tough job to do however long you have been doing it. It does get easier in some respects but it’s always a challenge.” Marc Hague
Recruitment is the process of attracting, screening, and selecting qualified people for a specific job. Many companies use the professional services of an agency to outsource some or all of the recruitment process. If they are looking for specialist skills, they will often use a recruitment agency that offers expertise in this area as they will have access to a higher number of appropriately skilled candidates.
A recruiter’s job is to match their candidates to a client’s position. Candidates are short-listed and put forward for interview based on their suitability for the role in question. The more a recruiter knows and understands their clients and candidates; the more successful they will be at offering well-matched candidates and achieving placements.
Companies pay agencies a commission that is based on an agreed percentage of the candidate’s first-year salary or hourly rate. A recruiter’s pay is partly based on commission for placements he or she makes.
