Job Description
will be working in the Operational Readiness area.
Key accountabilities:
- Managing the transition of the infrastructure aspects of IT projects
- Working closely with the Performance Management and Continuous Improvement team within Quality and Governance to manage the transition of the infrastructure aspects of IT projects
- Approve and incorporate the infrastructure aspects of the IT projects in relevant areas
- Identify the gaps required to fulfill from skills and technology perspective to meet the new to-be processes
- Understand the key challenges that are currently faced internally within the Data Centre Technology function and the related perception from other business functions
- Identify the root causes for the challenges and initiatives to resolving the root causes
- Reference industry standard where necessary
- Prepare transition plan and roadmap to support the project delivery
- Support the business change associated with the project implementation
- Build trusting relationship with Data Centre Technology Management and Stakeholders
- Making sure that transaction monitoring and right server configurations are in place
- Making sure IT Service Management processes, operational level agreements, and underpinning contracts are appropriate for the agreed service level targets
- Monitoring and reporting on the service levels
- Identifying, assessing, and controlling risks
- Send periodic communications and reports on the progress, risks, actions issues and escalations
- Ensuring that services and infrastructure are able to deliver the agreed capacity and performance targets in a cost-effective and timely manner
- Document all changes in the IT Infrastructure and its components (Configuration Items), in order to maintain a minimum amount of interruptive effects upon the running operation.
- Planning and coordinating with the change and release teams
- Planning, scheduling, and controlling the movement of releases to test in live environments.
- Protect integrity of the live environment and making sure correct components are released
- Maintaining information about configuration items that are required to deliver IT services
- Ensures that deployed releases and resulting services meet customer expectations and verifies that relevant teams are able to support the new service
Required skills and knowledge:
- Minimum 5 years previous technical experience gained within a large commercial environment.
- Excellent ITIL knowledge, ITIL v3 foundation
- Strong understanding of Release Management stages including change lifecycle
- Good understanding of BMC Remedy or similar
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to form strong business relationships across multiple locations
- Strong analytical and (re-)structuring skills
- Strong Excel, Power Point and documentation skills
- Good knowledge of Atlassian JIRA
- Experienced in Incident & Problem Management processes
- Lean Six Sigma skills will be a benefit
- Knowledge of MS Visio will be a benefit
