Network Engineer
We require a Network Engineer to join a highly skilled existing team to continue the extensive roll-out of a mixture of core and metro network as well as enhancement and future-fit state. You'll be involved in the delivery, operations, improvement and expansion of a fully resilient and scalable Network including but not limited to BNG services, Metro backhaul, MPLS Backbone, Peering & Transit, Datacentres and network infrastructure providing transport connectivity to Mobile, IP Core, OTT & CDN.
Role
*Lot of new equipment (multiple providers) , prepping it,
*Out of hours migration onto the new platforms
*Running Tests and check
*Post-migration as expected
*Day time activities blend of automation and nonautomation
*Interaction with field force and updating comms
*Working network management centre to ensure network optimize
*Managing planned works and changes through the overnight window and within normal business hours.
*Scripting and network automation using Python
*Diagnosing faults, fault resolution and ensuring faults are resolved
*Working closely with internal and external party or internal partners to fix, maintain and investigate major and pro-active issues
Experience
If you can do the above already, you've got what it takes.
You'll be a certified engineer in Cisco (CCNA) , Nokia/Alcatel (NRS), or Juniper (JNCIE)
Ideally, you'll have scripting and network automation experience using Python
You'll have experience working either directly or indirectly for Tier 1 service carriers like BT, Colt, Virgin Media
This will be a remote role in the UK and exceptional communications skills will be required
You'll be comfortable with working both day shifts and night shifts in a 2 week on and 2-week change rotation.
