The Project Manager is responsible for
*Ensuring the profitability of customer projects including products and services
*Achieving best in class efficiency in sourcing, production, distribution and implementation to attain market share targets
This is achieved through:
*Capturing and collecting true short term customer demand (volume)
*Having real time visibility what has been promised, what is needed and what can be delivered
*Orchestrating the flow of services and materials for the optimal progress of the customer's project to fulfil customer commitment
*Extending the customer project profitability through continuous management of extensions and variations
*Enabling reliable contract accounting by ensuring correct connection between true project progress and project costs
*Managing the customer project in terms of time, quality and customer satisfaction.
Project-Manager leads and manages the project organisation in order to get the project initiation, preparation, execution and closing done according to project processes and principles:
*Preparation of the project according to front loading principle
*Contribute to the contract negotiations (tender and execution phase) with main responsibility in leading services pricing and scheduling
Prepare, plan, execute and close the project according to the business / customer contract requirements
*Ensure complete Delivery Package implementation and final site acceptance
*Look for project inefficiencies (like integration bottleneck) and remove them with the core project management team
*Evaluation and analysis of the overall risk level of the project, implementation of risk management in project
*Hand over the network to care phase after acceptance
Project-Manager is responsible for following areas to be able to execute the above mentioned areas professionally:
*Manage scope changes during the preparation and project
*Support the planning and definition of the detailed scope during the demand creation
*Define and agree change control process for project.
*Ensure all change requests are handled according to defined process.
*Ensure that project plan is updated based on approved changes.
*Prepare the master schedule and the roll-out plan
*Define and plan the major project milestones
*Implement and manage invoicing and cost control processes, initiate invoicing after acceptance
*Responsible for project gross margin against project budget (Note: service and equipment unit sales prices are not on PMs responsibility)
*Responsible for cost budget. Costs include services, HW and SW products, service costs and local materials. Responsibility of other than service costs must be defined case by case.
*Sales/expense management including e.g., accruals, project inventory (DOP, WIP) interest
*Enable reliable contract accounting by ensuring correct connection between true project progress and project costs
*Set up the quality controlling and reporting processes (for way of working and site quality)
*Plan, forecast and organise resources for the project
*Manage partners and subcontractors during the project execution.
*Build and lead a flexible project organisation
*Initiate and implement organisational changes and effectuating proper and clear delegation of responsibilities and authorities
*Assist home base managers with IIP, career path and training development for project organisation
*Set up and maintain clear and effective internal and external communication within the project
*Report key performance indicators
*Provide regular forecasts and progress reports on key performance indicators
*Implement a meeting structure with the customer
*Plans how risk management shall be implemented in the project (defines RM Plan).
*Identify and analyse risks.
*Plan and implement risk response actions and define contingency plan.
*Monitor and control risks continuously and maintain contingency plan
*Define site process and set up logistics process, procedures, performance levels and metrics (SLA's, supplier network, local distribution model) for the project together with the Logistics Manager
*Ensure visibility and initiate order triggering according to roll-out progress
Deliverable/ performance measures:
*Project profitability (gross margin, products and delivery services)
*Direct costs (products and delivery services)
*Project inventories (DOP, work-in-progress)
*On-time delivery of Delivery Packages to customer (site acceptance accuracy)
*Telecom implementation lead times
*Roll-out hand-over documentation
*Demand planning accuracy (for projects)
* You must have the right to work in Germany.
* At least 5 years of project management experience in Telco or IT industry
* Familiar with Project delivery cycles.
* Familiar with one of the following domain (Wireless Network, Core Network IT Network or Fixed Network)
* Fluent in written and spoken English and if you speak German is a plus.
* Working experience with Telecom Vendor (Huawei, Nokia, Ericsson) or Top Tier Operator (Deutsche Telekom, T-system, Telefonica, or Vodafone) is a plus.
