Where will you be working?
One of the leading online marketplace companies in London is looking for a Software Development Manager to steer the future of their technical innovation and operations.
They've got lots of momentum right now and a great team in central London with people from all over the world, working collaboratively to build something that's used by millions, all across the country.
Also, you will be working in a great location with an amazing view from the office: from the Shard right round to the London Eye. London's endless bars and restaurants are on the doorstep, plus if you're after a mammoth falafel wrap then they know just the place.
If you're keen to be part of our fun, creative, hard-working team, have a look at this role!
What will you be doing?
Working on-site in their Central London offices, you will be one of their hands-on Software Development Managers heading up a team of Android and iOS developers. They're looking for someone with a well-rounded experience of native mobile app development.
You'll be more proficient in iOS, but have good a very understanding of Android. Their native apps are key to their future success. As such, they believe in providing the best experience for their customers through fully native, rather than "hybrid" or wrapped HTML, allowing them full access to the efficiencies and platform-specific-features of both Android and iOS.
They're looking for a Software Development Manager who is as passionate about native apps and their potential as they are. You must be keenly aware of the differences between Android and iOS and have in depth technical knowledge of both platforms.
In addition to day-to-day development duties in a cross functional SCRUM team, you will be responsible for coaching and inspiring the native app development team, as their direct line-manager. As well as collaborating with their UX and design experts about platform-specific best practice and implementation considerations, you'll also provide overall native app architectural direction reporting directly to the CTO.
Why we would love your profile?
We'd love your profile if you have:
At least 3 years as a Senior Developer experience using Objective-C and Swift developing high quality apps
You must have at least 2 year's experience with leading or managing a team of at least 3-4 people
Native app development experience
Experience in working in an Agile environment
Strong commercial awareness
Ability to turn delivery around very fast
We'd absolutely love you if you are:
A self-starter who is excited to learn and improve your skillset in the ever-evolving field of technology
Someone who take code-quality seriously, and craft high-quality, unit-tested code, collaborating with your colleagues through code reviews and Git, whilst automated processes build and test your code as part of Continuous-Integration procedures.
Experience with community/market place apps would be a plus but not essential
