Scala Engineer

We are looking for a Scala Engineer to join a consultancy partner to work in a fast-moving environment working in Scala, Kafka, Cassandra, microservices, and Kubernetes deploying to GCP and AWS. You'll have worked with have some experience or interest with Type level such as Fs2, Cats, HTTP4s.

Role

*Collaborate on technical choices, architecture, tools and processes.
*Review code and give feedback to ensure that the highest of standards are maintained.
*Actively improve overall software quality
*Exploring the potential evolution of personalisation services through the integration of machine learning.
*Self-organizing within a cross-functional agile team, enjoying the freedom to contribute effectively.
*Continuous refinement of team processes, emphasizing continuous integration and working towards a deployable application.

An additional role for Senior's position

* Promoting best practices such as Pair Programming and Test-Driven Development (TDD) to develop clean, robust code capable of performing at a significant scale. (for Seniors positions role)
* Active coaching and feedback provision for fellow developers and fostering the growth of an engineering culture centred around DevOps and GitOps principles. (for Seniors positions role)

Experience

*Scala Development experience with 5 - 10 years as either a mid-level or Senior developer
*Expertise in real-time data processing and RESTful microservices, Kafka, Cassandra, Kubernetes, GCP, and AWS.
*Typelevel stack experience such as Fs2, Cats, HTTP4s
*You'll be self-organised within a cross-functional agile team, enjoying the freedom to contribute effectively

 

 

This will be a 6-month initial (highly likely to extend due to workload) contract and requires at least 2 days per week onsite in London.  You'll be working entirely in a pair programming environment for this role.
